Privacy policy
Version 1.1 — effective 1 September 2026
This policy explains what happens to data when you visit FabricFile, who else is involved, and what you can do about it.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of personal data collected through this website, as defined in Article 4(7) of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, is:
Yetik Deniz Daniel
Budapest, Hungary
Email: privacy@fabricfile.com
There is no statutory obligation for a site of this size to appoint a Data Protection Officer, and none has been appointed. Contact the address above for any data protection matter.
2. What is collected, and why
2.1 Server and delivery data
Every request to this site is handled by the hosting and content delivery provider, which automatically processes technical data in order to deliver the page and protect the service from attack:
- Your IP address (shortened or discarded after processing where the provider supports it)
- The date and time of the request and the page requested
- Browser type and version, operating system and device type
- The referring page, if you arrived via a link
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in delivering the website reliably and defending it against abuse. Retention: this data is held by the provider in aggregated or short-lived logs and is not combined with anything else or used to build a profile.
2.2 Advertising
No advertising is currently being served. The site contains a Google AdSense ownership-verification meta tag and an ads.txt publisher record. These are plain text declarations; they do not display ads, set cookies or contact an advertising server when you read a page.
If AdSense is enabled after approval, this policy will be updated before the ad script is added. Visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland will be shown a Google-certified consent message before any advertising storage or personalised advertising is permitted. Google's general explanation of data use on partner sites is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
2.3 Analytics
No analytics service is currently used on this site. Visitor numbers are read from the aggregated traffic statistics provided by the hosting provider, which are not linked to individuals and set no cookies.
2.4 Fonts
The site uses fonts already installed on your device. No font files are requested from Google Fonts or another font provider.
2.5 Email
If you write to the address on the contact page, your message and your email address are processed for the purpose of replying to you. They are not added to any mailing list and are not disclosed to anyone. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in answering correspondence. Retention: deleted once the matter is closed, and in any case within 12 months.
3. Cookies and local storage
FabricFile currently sets no advertising or analytics cookies and therefore does not show a consent banner. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security mechanisms to deliver and protect the site.
If you switch between light and dark mode, that preference is stored in your browser's local storage under the key ff-theme. It stays on your device, is not transmitted to FabricFile and can be removed through your browser's site-data controls. The quiz and troubleshooter keep their state only in the open page and do not save answers.
4. Who your data is shared with
| Recipient | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting and content delivery, security | Global network |
Your data is never sold, and it is never shared for any purpose other than those listed above.
5. Transfers outside the EEA
The hosting provider operates a global network and may process request data outside the EEA. International transfers are governed by the provider's applicable data-processing terms, adequacy mechanisms and Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you (Art. 15)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
- Erasure (Art. 17)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- Data portability (Art. 20)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
- Withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3))
To exercise any of these, write to privacy@fabricfile.com. There is no charge, and you will get an answer within one month.
Be aware that this site itself holds very little that identifies you — most of what is described above sits with the third parties named in section 4, and a request aimed at their data is usually best sent to them directly. I will tell you where to send it if that is the case.
7. Complaints
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in the EU member state where you live, work, or where you believe an infringement occurred.
The authority competent for this site is the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság, NAIH), 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11, naih.hu.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data here, write to the address above and it will be deleted.
9. Changes
This policy will change when the site does. The version number and effective date at the top always reflect the current text. Material changes — a new category of data, a new recipient, a new purpose — will be flagged on the site rather than made quietly.
